Cool opportunity coming up: Indigenous Tourism BC and Destination BC are partnering to host free virtual workshops celebrating National Indigenous History Month (June 2021) and National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21, 2021)
As part of the month-long series of events, A Tasting of Indigenous Cultures will take place June 15 at 2 pm PST/3 pm MST/5 pm EST.
Billed as “an immersive exploration of the rich history and cultures of Indigenous cuisine and wine in BC,” according to the news release, it promises to be both educational and fun.
Virtual attendees will get a chance to hear Ryan Widdup, manager and sommelier of the Okanagan Valley’s Indigenous World Winery, talk about the history of wine in Indigenous cultures. He’ll be joined by second-generation chef Paul Natrall, owner of Vancouver’s Indigenous food truck, Mr. Bannock, who will teach viewers how to make bannock at home. Sign up here.
