Malfy Gin brings Italian flair to the table

I’ve been in Italy for more than six weeks this year and I know one thing for sure: Malfy Gin is the summer gin across much of the country. Sure, there are many others, but behind pretty much every bar and cafe I visited (and I visited many!), I found a bottle or two of Malfy Gin. Sometimes it was Malfy Gin Rosa, made with Italian lemons and pink grapefruit from Sicily. Other times, I would find the Malfy Gin Con Limone — as it sounds, gin with lemon. Both are delicious, fresh and delicately fragrant.

Here’s a fun take on the ever-popular spritz aperitivo, this time made with Malfy Gin Rosa.

Amalfi Sunset Spritz

7 tsp (35 mL) Malfy Gin Rosa

3.5 Tbsp (50 mL) San Pellegrino Aranciata Rossa

3.5 Tbsp (50 mL) Prosecco

1 Orange slice

1 Strawberry, sliced

Thyme sprig

Combine ingredients in tall clear glass over ice cubes. Gently stir to combine and then garnish with an orange slice, thyme sprig and strawberry slice. Serves one.
