New product alert: Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale

New gin! Well, a gin-based spirit, that is, from the team at Tanqueray.

If you’re new to gin, you may not know that Tanqueray gin was created in 1930 in London, England, in 1830 by brothers Charles and Edward Tanqueray.

One hundred years later, American president Franklin D. Roosevelt marked the end of Prohibition in the U.S. by sipping on a Tanqueray and tonic in the White House. It’s now one of the biggest gin brands in the world.

As for this new Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale, it is made with (yes) blackcurrants and is a bit vanilla, a bit blackcurrant in flavour.

It’s dangerously good with lemonade (yes) or tonic water over ice, or add a bit to the bottom of a Champagne flute and top with Prosecco. About $28 to $35, depending on your province.
