Owned by the Thai Royal Family, Singha Beer was founded in 1933 and is – perhaps not surprisingly, given the royal connection – Thailand’s top-selling beer. (It’s also the top-selling Thai beer in Alberta, where Drink with Me is based. Until now, we didn’t know there were other Thai beers for sale here…)
But I digress. Made from 100 per cent barley malt, with Hallertau, Perle and Saaz hops, Singha is crisp, medium-bodied and pleasantly bitter. It’s an ideal pairing for Thai green curry or other spice-driven cuisines such as Indian or Mexican food. About $13/six glass bottles.
