Platinum Margarita
From Toronto mixologist Robin Goodfellow, this fresh take on a classic margarita likely looks unlike any margarita you’ve ever had before — unless you’ve had his version.
What is Malva flower tequila? This is a question I asked myself, too. Turns out you can make your own with Malva flowers (find them on Etsy) and blanco tequila. Put a few in your tequila, let it sit for a few minutes and watch it turn a beautiful purple/blue colour. Filter to remove flower bits, and then try your new tequila in your next cocktail. Magic! As for the Grand Marnier, this orange liqueur is easy to find and delicious.
90 mL Grand Marnier
250 mL malva flower tequila
120 mL fresh lime juice
40 g (about 3 to 4 Tbsp) sugar
60 mL (about 4 Tbsp) egg whites
12 ice cubes
Rim four glasses with lime juice and pink sea salt. Blend Grand Marnier, malva flower tequila, lime juice, sugar, egg white and ice cubes in blender, and blend until frothy. Pour into prepared glasses. Garnish with more malva petals and serve. Makes approx. four cocktails.
