New Product Alert: Traveller Whiskey

Yes, this is the story of yet another celebrity throwing their name behind a booze label. But I like Grammy Award-winning alt-country musician Chris Stapleton so I was pretty curious to see what his whiskey would be like. A partnership with Buffalo Trace Distillery (I can’t lie — I am also a fan), Traveller Whiskey has buttery, nutty, caramel, vanilla and fruitcake aromas and flavours. It’s good for cocktails but I’ve been enjoying it neat. It’ll be a natural around the firepit later this summer.

Traveller, incidentally, was the name of Stapleton’s first album, released in 2015, and Stapleton was born in Kentucky, where Traveller is made. The number 40 on the label refers to the fact that the distillery came up with 50-some blends for Stapleton to try; his favourite was the 40. As for the price? It’s about $56 in Canada.
